A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT  
Kenya and Tanzania have come together to help the Mara River Basin... 

And the USAID-funded Sustainable Water Project is working with them. “I think the work we are going to do in the Mara could be a model that could be copied in many basins,” says Team Leader Gordon Mumbo. “The model will be the community — the stakeholders — being in the driving seats. ... The river belongs to the people.”
