100 years later, these laws still have not been updated. The current criminal code reference outhouses, steamboats, and mules.
We need these outdated laws to change and we need the CCRC to change them. 10 years of expert research will be lost if Mayor Bowser abolishes the CCRC.
Mayor Bowser's FY24 budget would cut funding by 60%, stripping access to critical resources from thousands of DC tenants, low-wage workers, people with disabilities, and many more. These funds are essential to the communities of DC.
