Dear Friend,

For the first time in our nation’s history, the Supreme Court has taken away a right found in the Constitution and upheld by prior courts. It is not an accident that it is an attack on the full personhood and autonomy of women, and they have signaled that they are not done. The Court is set on a path to undermine the very foundation of the Fourteenth Amendment as we know it.

In the face of this assault by the Court, racialized violence in our streets, and constant reminders of hatred, it is easy to despair. Yet, we can draw hope from those who have fought this fight before us and those who fight alongside us.

As Bayard Rustin once said, "Let us be enraged by injustice, but let us not be destroyed by it."

Demonstrators, community organizations, attorneys, advocates, and so many more have continued to do the work every day. Our communities' dedication to civil rights has not and will not be destroyed by the circumstances we find ourselves in. We will win.

We thank each and every one of you who has done the work to dismantle injustice and pursue lasting change.

Jonathan M. Smith
Executive Director

We are overwhelmed by the incredible support of every person who fueled this campaign. All 24 firms that participated deserve a round of applause! THANK YOU!

With a coalition of organizations, we joined an amicus brief calling on the Supreme Court to overrule the Insular Cases which undercut the rights of residents of Puerto Rico and other territories.
