NY State & Congressional Primaries

Exercise the rights veterans fought to protect by voting in the upcoming New York state and congressional primaries. Here's everything you need to know:

Your Ballot
Find out who's on your ballot here. To learn more about the candidates on your ballot, including policy positions and experience, visit Vote 411 or WNYC's voter guide.

Early Voting
The early voting period in New York ends on Sunday, June 21st. Learn how you can cast an early ballot here. Find your early voting polling site here.

Vote by Mail
This year, all eligible voters with a primary election were mailed an absentee ballot application by the Board of Elections (BOE). Although the deadline to submit your application in the mail has passed, you can still deliver the application
in-person at your local BOE office by June 22nd.

To vote by absentee ballot you must postmark your completed ballot by June 23rd or drop it off at your local BOE office by 9 pm on June 23rd.

Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, June 23rd. Polls will be open from 6:00 am - 9:00 pm. Find your polling site here or
 call 1-866-VOTE-NYC (1-866-868-3692).

Voting Safely
At your polling site, you will see f
loor markers to help maintain social distancing. Antiviral wipes will also be available. Voters will receive their own pen to check in on poll pads and mark their ballot, which voters can keep.

Voting machines will be cleaned regularly with antiseptic wipes. Masks will be provided to voters who need one and sneeze guards will be placed between voters and poll workers.

2020 Census

As NYC faces unprecedented challenges in the fight against COVID-19, we must also remember that there is a critical step each of us must take to build a better future for our City - complete the 2020 Census.

The census determines how the federal government allocates hundreds of billions of dollars every year to states and cities for programs including education, housing, transportation, and healthcare.  The census also determines the number of seats New York State is allocated in Congress, as well as our local and state legislative district lines.

In addition to returning your census form by mail, you can also fill out the census online at
my2020census.gov or by phone at 844-330-2020.

NYC is counting on you like never before – fill out the 2020 Census today!
