Women's Equality

New Podcast Series on Women Veterans

This week we celebrated the 100th-anniversary of the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. In honor of this anniversary, we're announcing a special four-episode podcast series: "The Health of Women Veterans". Throughout this series, SITREP NYC will spotlight women who are working to overcome service-related trauma. Listen as women veterans tell stories of illness, combat injury, PTSD, and perseverance. All episodes will be available on Monday, 8/31. Subscribe to SITREP NYC wherever you get your podcasts:

Women's Health Transition Training Program

The Women’s Health Transition Training program informs women veterans of the services offered by the VA to treat depression, musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, obesity, infertility, prenatal care, and MST. The program is offered virtually twice a day through mid-December. Learn more here.

Get Counted, Get Power

As we reflect on women’s suffrage, remember that the fight for equality didn’t end 100 years ago - and still isn't over. When women are undercounted in the 2020 Census, we lose out on political power. Continue the fight for equality and representation, fill out the census here.

No Symptoms? Get Tested for COVID-19 Anyway!

"Let’s make something clear. Despite what you may have heard, in NYC, if you're worried you may have been exposed to COVID-19, you should get tested - whether or not you're having symptoms."

DVS in the Community

Joining Forces to Feed Veterans

Team DVS joined the New York State Division of Veterans' Services and Black Veterans for Social Justice to deliver food to veterans at the Harlem Vet Center. We delivered 200 bags of meals, each containing two meals apiece. The food was donated by Hello Fresh as part of a partnership to distribute meal kits to veterans and military families across New York State.
