Derek Coy is the Veterans' Health Officer at the New York State Health Foundation. He's a veteran of both the military and non-profit space having held positions at the Doe Fund, ACLU, and Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) prior to joining NYSHealth.

Queens College Veterans Symposium
DVS Deputy Commissioner Roth spoke at the joint symposium hosted by Queens College and the University of Stirling. The event focused on shared service and identifying common gaps and opportunities for veteran outreach in both the US and UK.

Brooklyn Veterans Advisory Board Meeting
DVS Commissioner Sutton gave opening remarks at the first VAB meeting of 2019. DVS staff was on hand to listen to questions and feedback from members of the community and partner organizations.

Vietnam Veterans Day 2019
DVS joined United War Veterans Council for their annual Vietnam Veterans Day commemoration. The morning included a name reading, tribute march across the Brooklyn Bridge, and a wreath laying ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Plaza in Lower Manhattan.

DVS Commissioner Sutton was featured on PIX11's Sunday News Program: Up Close with Marvin Scott. Sutton spoke about combating sexual assault in the military and supporting the victims in and out of uniform.
