More than 350 military veterans, first responders and civilians are expected to participate in the seventh annual New York City SEAL Swim, a demanding multi-sport challenge that spans 3.5 miles across the Hudson River, on Aug. 16.

A Message From Mayor Adams:
Each week DVS shares a brief update about how our administration is getting stuff done for New Yorkers.
Our administration works every day to make our city more affordable for working-class families. Every New Yorker deserves access to a quality education without being overwhelmed by financial burden, which is why our administration is working every day to make our city more affordable for working-class New Yorkers. We recently announced that we've expanded our municipal student loan reduction and college savings assistance program to all NYC residents. This program builds on the city's recent partnership with loan forgiveness company Summer and will help reduce student loan payments for 1.4 million borrowers and find ways to lower college costs for 1.6 million more New Yorkers — helping 3 million NYC residents save up to $1 billion. And here at DVS, we hosted our first Community Engagement of 2025, focusing on navigating the educational benefits available to our Veteran community. To see what we talked about, watch the video here!
