Trump's military parade: What to know about the Army anniversary event

ABC News | Sarah Beth Hensley and Anne Flaherty
5:22 AM, June 12, 2025

A massive military parade is set to bring thousands to Washington, D.C., to mark the Army's 250th birthday on June 14 -- the same day as President Donald Trump's 79th birthday.

The Army has estimated more than 6,000 soldiers will participate in the event -- an all-day ordeal that's expected to include a fitness competition, festival and parade complete with tanks and infantry vehicles, helicopter flyovers and parachute jumps.

"We will celebrate a spectacular military parade in Washington, D.C., like no other," Trump said on his social media site last week, touting a parade that's "gonna be better and bigger than any parade we've ever had in this country."

Here's what to know about the event: [READ MORE...]

A Message From Mayor Adams:
Each week DVS shares a brief update about how our administration is getting stuff done for New Yorkers.
Our administration works every day to create a more affordable and livable city, and that’s why we’re making sure every family has access to safe, clean spaces to play and enjoy the outdoors. On Sunday, we proudly cut the ribbon on two newly renovated NYCHA playgrounds and announced a $23 million investment to revitalize nearly three acres of open space across three NYCHA developments. These parks will not only serve NYCHA residents but serve the nearby community as well — meaning that more than 10,000 additional New Yorkers will have more parks and playgrounds within a 10-minute walk. And here at DVS, our team is growing to enhance service delivery in housing, benefits and outreach—making it easier for veterans and their families to access the support the have earned and deserve to build a more affordable city for working-class New Yorkers.
