Each year, members of the City Council partner with not-for-profit organizations to address local needs and bridge gaps in City services through discretionary funding. This funding, allocated from the City’s expense budget, empowers community-based organizations to deliver essential programs and services that make a meaningful impact in neighborhoods across the city.

To be eligible for funding, organizations must fill out an application, found on the Council’s website which is open NOW. The deadline to submit is Wednesday, February 19th, 2025

Don’t miss this opportunity to secure funding to support your organization’s initiative and bring resources to your community!

Stay Healthy This Season: Protect Against Flu,
COVID-19, and RSV

As the colder months settle in, it’s a great time to think about ways to stay healthy and help protect those around us. Seasonal illnesses like the flu, COVID-19, and RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) can be tough on everyone, especially adults over the age of 65 and folks with health conditions. A little prevention can go a long way!

Flu vaccines are widely available at doctor’s offices, pharmacies, and VA health clinics. Most health insurance plans cover flu vaccinations without a co-pay or other fees. For New Yorkers with no or limited health insurance, low- to no-cost vaccines are available, including at NYC Health + Hospitals sites.
