 A Message From Mayor Adams:

Each week DVS shares a brief update about how our administration is getting stuff done for New Yorkers.

Thanks to the Adams administration’s efforts, New York continues to be the safest big city in the country — with crime down for the eighth straight month in a row in August. But keeping New Yorkers safe is about more than just good crime stats. Earlier this year, we announced a new city-state effort to catch “ghost cars” — cars that use altered or no license plates to avoid detection by traffic cameras and help criminals evade arrest. This effort has already removed over 2,300 illegal “ghost cars” from our streets, and, last week, we announced a new task force between the NYPD and the Sanitation Department to bolster these efforts against parked cars as well.
