Rules and Regulations at Sea

This week at the Virtual Museum, we are highlighting the vast world of rules and regulations on board U.S. Navy warships in the 19th century. Read about the intricacies of naval uniform regulations on our blog, explore the life of a crew member who enforced the rules in our historical crew profiles, and gather your family and try commanding the crew with a game of Command the Crew—our nautical version of Simon Says!

You can view some related objects from our collection in person on your next visit to the Museum! Plan your visit and reserve tickets online.
