Museum Launches New Live Program

Join Museum educators and USS Constitution crew every Wednesday in May for A Sailors Life, Live!, a new online program series about life on board USS Constitution in the War of 1812 era. Tune in to these 30 minute live programs to see if the sailors’ life is for you! Register now for the first program Wednesday, May 6 from 1:00 - 1:30pm ET. Suitable for students Grades 3 and up and their families.

In this week's Historian at Home video, Carl discusses preparedness at sea. Watch to learn about the crew's preparation for 1812 cruises and Carl's own experience packing for long journeys at sea.

Prepare for an Adventure at Sea

While you're hunkered down at home, pack for an imaginary sea adventure! Sailors used sea bags to carry their uniforms and personal belongings aboard ships like USS Constitution. Take a picture of some of the items you would pack for a long journey and tag #PackYourSeabag.
