Celebrate July 4th with the Virtual Museum

The USS Constitution Museum and USS Constitution are bringing fun virtual content to your Fourth of July celebration! There is something for all ages in this online event, from a live 21-gun salute aboard "Old Ironsides" and Ship tour with Historian at Home Carl Herzog, to an at-home Alka-Seltzer® cannon family activity available for purchase with curbside pickup at the Museum.

Programming on July 4th will be streamed live from USS Constitution's Facebook page. Independence Day resources and at-home activities are available on the Museum's website: usscm.org/july4.

A Conversation with Ben Mezrich on 'The Mechanic'

Join us virtually on Thursday, June 25 at 12:30 p.m. ET as we sit down with Ben Mezrich, international best-selling author, for a deeper dive into 'The Mechanic,' a novella written for and published exclusively by The Boston Globe this spring.

Ben takes his readers on a taut journey through his hometown of Boston, from the hallowed halls of Harvard to the glitz of a newly-built casino, from the hushed galleries of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to the city’s ancient institutions built by the Founding Fathers. He even takes them to…USS Constitution!

Learn more about the author and register for this free virtual program below.

Museum Receives Key Federal and State Support

The USS Constitution Museum is proud to announce two recent grant awards to support our operations and programs, which have been deeply impacted by COVID-19. This week, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded us a highly competitive CARES Act grant of $232,468 to support our virtual All Hands on Deck exhibit, as well as virtual programs and field trips through the end of 2020. Last week, Mass Humanities awarded us a $10,000 grant to sustain our core operations until we can reopen to the public. Both grants were made possible by funds that the National Endowment for the Humanities received through the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The Museum is grateful to the National Endowment for the Humanities and Mass Humanities for their long-time support and strong endorsement of our value to the community, state of Massachusetts, and the nation.
