We Remember: Memorial Day at the Museum

This month, join the Museum in honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country. Between May 15-30, Museum visitors are encouraged to make a poppy—a symbol of remembrance—to honor a fallen military service member in their life or share a message of gratitude and add it to our memorial poppy garden. Visit our website for more information.

The completed poppies will be featured in a Memorial Day ceremony on board USS Constitution. This ceremony will be streamed live on Facebook.

If you are unable to visit the Museum, but would like to share the name of a fallen service member to include in our Remember memorial, please complete our online form and we will do our best honor these requests.

The USS Constitution Museum is shifting to summer hours!
Starting Thursday, May 27, we will be open daily from 10:00am-5:00pm.

Re-envisioning the Navy Yard: Join the Conversation!

Over the last several years, the National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Navy, and the USS Constitution Museum have been working to develop a master development strategy that aims to transform the National Park area of the Charlestown Navy Yard. We imagine a place that welcomes people from around the corner and around the world. Several workshops have been held to discuss creating a world-class visitor experience, upholding a stewardship ethic that allows for the landscape to evolve and be preserved, and reimagining the Navy Yard as a portal to the Harbor, the Freedom Trail, and to our community’s heritage and public space. We now invite your input on the proposed project ideas during this planning phase. Register now for the Charlestown Navy Yard Civic Engagement Meeting on Wednesday, June 2 at 6:30pm ET.

Visit charlestownnavyyard.org to watch an introductory video and learn more from the Navy Yard partners—Superintendent Michael Creasey (NPS), CO John Benda (U.S. Navy), and Anne Grimes Rand (USS Constitution Museum)—before joining the meeting.
