Skill. Perseverance. Drive. Dedication. These qualities help elite athletes rise toward the pinnacle of their sport, reaching great heights for themselves, their teams, and their countries. Two such athletes are French Olympian Kévin Campion, who competes in racewalking, and Paralympian Thu Kamkasomphou, who competes in para table tennis.
Universal Postal Union calls for donations to support postal services in Ukraine
The UPU has appealed to its 192 member countries for their solidarity in raising emergency funds to provide assistance to the Ukrainian Post (Ukrposhta).
To showcase postal solidarity in action, the UPU is collecting examples of how Posts are already supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. The list is accessible through this link. To add your support initiatives to the page, please contact us at communication@upu.int.

UPU celebrates International Women’s Day with dedicated gender equality event
The UPU hosted a dedicated gender equality event, which brought together leading female figures from the postal sector to discuss the importance of parity in the workforce and how it can lead to a more sustainable future.
The Ecuadorian start-up “Tipti” is the fastest growing e-commerce company in the country, while its CEO and Co-Founder Pierangela Sierra provides a benchmark and inspiration for many women across Latin America. On the 10th episode of Voice Mail, Ian Kerr talked to Pierangela about the e-commerce landscape in the region, the challenges of overcoming the digital divide, meeting the escalating demand for convenient service and building an e-commerce career as a woman.

UPU Postal Security Group Chairman Award 2022
Each year, the UPU Postal Security Group (PSG) Chairman Award recognizes excellence in leadership in the field of securing the global postal supply chain. This award highlights the development of innovative efforts, systemic improvements, and the promotion of supply chain security. Any UPU member country may nominate one of its own employees for this award, or nominate a deserving employee of another member Post or UPU stakeholder.
Nominations for the 2022 Award are open until 1 July 2022.
As part of its partnership with WHO and to support Posts in their role in the COVID-19 response, the UPU is encouraging Posts to use the AI-powered chatbot HealthBuddy+ solution - an automated tool that provides verified information on the pandemic to the public. The chatbot is available in 22 languages and can be embedded directly on the postal websites for free.
