Dear Heavenly Father,
The opposites of hope are despair, discouragement, disbelief, and pessimism. There are probably numerous days where these ladies’ emotions and situations are more on the dark side than the hope side of this verse. We ask that You empower them to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12).
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for the mighty work you are doing in Jordan. The hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria have intensified economic and political stress. We ask for the peace of this land and for the King and governments. We pray for the preservation of religious freedom amidst the rising extremism of some Muslims. This nation is a center for many Christian activities and ministries, and much Christian work in the Middle East would suffer if a setback were to occur in Jordan. Father, may the Jordanian church experience growth in global vision. We commit them to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
