Father,
Our desire is that these ladies develop healthy resiliency. Lord Jesus, we ask that the ladies reconnect with the Father’s heart for them. We pray that they will focus their eyes on Jesus and hold his gaze. Remind them He is their champion! He is at work perfecting their faith. During this time away, our desire is that they gain a renewed perspective on life. May they experience comfort in sharing parts of their stories with others who understand. Bless each lady with life-giving conversations. Give them rekindled joy and hope. Let laughter abound. For several, experiencing deep community has been a long time in coming.
While the Mediterranean island of Cyprus hosts numerous headquarters of Christian ministries serving the Middle East, it is also the host of a deep and bitter division over the last 30 years and more. The island is divided between two communities, ethnic Greeks and ethnic Turks. Outreach to both communities is hard going as evangelicals are viewed with deep suspicion. There is fruit among the ex-pats that work in the Greek part south of the island. We lift up Cyprus in prayer that God’s love would break through the decades of hatred and mistrust that has ruled the hearts of many Cypriots.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
