Workshop on Integrating Human Rights and Gender in 2021 Regional Events Held
SEI’s Strategic Collaborative Fund programme hosted a learning workshop on 27 September 2021 for its grantees to guide them in the design and implementation of regional events in 2021.

The workshop aims to build capacity and deepen understanding on how to integrate human rights and gender equality approaches. Camille Pross and Andrea Torre from SEI Asia discussed gender mainstreaming concepts, while Victor Bernard highlighted rights-based approaches to environmental sustainability. The webinar also allowed for an interactive, one-on-one dialogue with partners where they are encourage to ask questions relating to how how they can make human rights and gender at the center of regional policy events.

Representatives from the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia) Center, Inc.Mekong Institute (MI)Institute for Circular Economy Development (ICED), Vietnam National University, Asian Institute of Technology, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and their consortiums were in all in attendance. These partner organizations will lead regional environmental policy forums in 2021, highlighting five key themes: air pollution, agrobiodiversity, climate change adaptation and disaster risk management, freshwater ecosystems, and gender and migration.
