Alice Pearson's unique and amazing collection. Advice from a Quest Math Tutor— that has nothing to do with math. What our Manager of Recreation and Wellness would do if an elephant wound up on her doorstep. A riddle you'll never solve without peeking at the answer! Lots of festive upcoming events.

And more!

Alice has been working on cataloging Dr. Marjorie Wonham's seashell collection for her Keystone. She tells us why an archive space is important, her favourite thing about the shells, and something unexpected she's learned along the way.
Tutor Tip from Dr. Asia Matthews

Fall is a weird time. The plants that give food are all dying, and humans have spent many an autumn worrying if they'll have enough to eat through the winter. I always have low-grade anxiety at this time of year. Here are some things that help me:
  • Take deep breaths while you're walking to class, on the toilet, looking at the sky...
  • Drink water. Do that right now, and then at least seven more times today!
  • Think about the silent mystery of seeds. They're hiding until next spring, when they come back to sustain us for another year.

Lip balm. As it gets colder outside and warmer inside, our skin tends to dry out. My favourite is root beer lip balm by Rocky Mountain Soaps. I love the smell; it reminds me of being a kid, and it makes me smile!
Whether it’s a vitamin D chew for those darker days, or a multi-vitamin supplement when the produce in the grocery store isn’t looking too fresh, vitamins may help keep you healthy and boost energy levels.

“At first my dad was not sold on Quest, having come from a more traditional education. He conceded after seeing how much it meant to me, but I don’t think he fully understood the appeal until he visited the school and saw the Foundation reading list. He said, “I didn’t have this much reading until grad school. You’re really getting challenged here.” He loves Quest now, and hopes to teach here someday.” -Kate Luebkeman ’19
