We will continue to say no - because we know that these cuts are not only terrifying but target our province's and our city’s most vulnerable students.
I am a proud big sister and my sibling started grade 9 earlier this year. They are a non-binary student with autism, ADHD, and executive dysfunction. They, like many others, need support in order to succeed.
These changes will leave students like my sibling behind.
My sibling, like many students, will struggle with online classes where no real support from teachers is provided. My sibling, like many others with special needs, will suffer from sensory overload in crowded classrooms of around 40 students.
We know that every dollar cut from our education system will cause irreparable harm to students across our province.
We, the students, know we cannot stand idly by as our schools are stripped of the teachers and supports we know our fellow classmates and younger siblings need to succeed.
