Dear <<First Name>>,

My name is Rayne Fisher-Quann and I’m a grade 12 student in Toronto. Last September I helped lead 40,000 students to protest the changes to our sex-ed curriculum and this past April I helped organize 200,000 students from across the province to walk out in protest of the sweeping education cuts poised to decimate our schools.

Tomorrow, on Wednesday May 8, myself and thousands of students across this province will attend sit-ins at our MPPs’ offices and Queen’s Park to protest these cuts and to make sure our voices are heard. Support us students by clicking here to send a message to your MPP that you say no to cuts to our education.

Send a message to your MPP today

We, a group of dedicated teenagers, have organized one of the biggest unified movements our country has seen to say "no".

This Conservative Government, led by Premier Ford, has attacked education from every angle. He has now taken aim at cutting special needs funding, inflating class sizes, cutting teachers and support staff, and forcing students to take online classes.

Again and again, we the students have said no. Join us by sending your own message to the Premier and Education Minister. It only takes a few minutes and an email is sent directly to them: progresstoronto.ca/petition-stop-ford-cut-to-schools

Support us by telling your MPP you say no education cuts

We will continue to say no - because we know that these cuts are not only terrifying but target our province's and our city’s most vulnerable students.

I am a proud big sister and my sibling started grade 9 earlier this year. They are a non-binary student with autism, ADHD, and executive dysfunction. They, like many others, need support in order to succeed.

These changes will leave students like my sibling behind.

My sibling, like many students, will struggle with online classes where no real support from teachers is provided. My sibling, like many others with special needs, will suffer from sensory overload in crowded classrooms of around 40 students.

We know that every dollar cut from our education system will cause irreparable harm to students across our province.

We, the students, know we cannot stand idly by as our schools are stripped of the teachers and supports we know our fellow classmates and younger siblings need to succeed.

Join students in saying no - send a message today

Tomorrow, thousands of youth will participate across our province. Students will again say no.

We will peacefully occupy the offices of power to demand our government care and stop the cuts to our education.

What can you do to help us?

You can take action, echo our calls, and tell your MPP, Doug Ford, and Lisa Thompson that you support the students who have stood up for the future of students across this province.

Tell Ford you’re against the education cuts
As we sit in our MPPs’ offices tomorrow and at Queen’s Park,  we ask you to talk to your friends, family members, and neighbours and tell them to take action.

Share this petition, ask them to send a message to their MPP, this Premier, and the Minister of Education. Send them this link: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/petition-stop-ford-cut-to-schools

We ask you to use your voice to amplify ours.

Our future is on the line - and we all need to act.

I hope you join us.

Best,

Rayne
