At the July 25, 2023, Work Session, Board Member Nolte requested that the Board consider discontinuing the practice of issuing proclamations.

Governor DeSantis states that, if elected President, he will redesign immigration policy to look more like the systems in Canada or Australia and that immigrants from Poland or Brazil or WHEREVER "don't have the right to come to this country" Read story HERE.
Governor DeSantis' appointee to be administrator of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (Disney/Reedy Creek), Glen Gilzean Jr. is ALSO the Chair of the Florida Commission on Ethics. The commission's general counsel says that he cannot retain both positions as it violates the bylaws of the Ethics Commission (Can you imagine a DeSantis appointee being unethical? Doesn't it just beggar belief?) Did I mention that Mr. Gilzean is the former head of the Central Florida Urban League (he has understandably lost their support) and the current head of the Florida African American History Task Force? Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion
Text: No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider. This amendment does not change the Legislature’s constitutional authority to require notification to a parent or guardian before a minor has an abortion.

Right to Clean and Healthy Waters Amendment
Text: This amendment creates a fundamental right to clean and healthy waters. The amendment may be used to sue State executive agencies for harm or threatened harm to Florida’s waters, which include aquatic ecosystems. This amendment defines terms, identifies affected constitutional provisions in Article IV governing the executive branch, provides for civil action enforcement, allows attorney’s and expert witness fees to prevailing plaintiffs, and provides equitable remedies including restoration of waters.
