Vote By Mail ballots can still be returned by mail to the Polk County Supervisor of Elections. Please do so immediately, to prevent delay.

  • The deadline to request a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot is October 29.
  • All VBM ballots must be received by 7 pm Nov 8, Election Day.

Governor's Debate Watch Party

Join other local Democrats to watch Charlie Crist take on Ron DeSantis, during Monday night's debate. We will gather at the BlueShift FL campaign office starting at 6.30 pm. BYOB and a snack! Register here, as seating is limited.
Polk Supervisor of Elections offers Universal Ballot Access

Beginning with the 2022 elections, the Polk County Supervisor of Elections office is implementing a new ADA accessible voting program which allows voters to have a private and secure voting experience at home.
Voters who have enrolled in this program will be able to privately vote a ballot that is compatible with their assistance devices or screen readers,
then return their ballot via mail or in person to the Supervisor of Elections office.
Registered voters can sign-up with via this link. Towards the end of the mail ballot request process, voters needing assistance will have the option of checking a box stating that they have a disability and want to utilize the remote ballot marking system.
Get Out The Vote Events
Oct 29/30 and Nov 5-8
BlueShift FL is hosting Get Out The Vote (GOTV) events in Polk County up through Election Day.

We need volunteers to help get out the vote and campaign for Democratic candidates, such as Charlie Crist for Governor, Val Demings for US SenateVeysel Dokur for FL Senate Dist 12, and Markeishia Smith for Polk County Commission. Please consider spending just a few hours to door knock or make phones calls to registered Democrats and left-leaning no-party affiliated voters, reminding them they have not yet voted!

Cindy Layner's tireless commitment to the Rainbow Ridge LBGTA Democratic Caucus of Polk County is among the reasons she has been named our Volunteer of the Month for October.

Nominated by Rainbow Ridge caucus president Paul Ritz, Cindy currently serves as sergeant-at-arms for the caucus. She has also served as an officer and board member of the caucus for several years, including serving as acting president. 

"Cindy has consistently been a tireless, dedicated and proactive member of our caucus, playing a pivotal role in helping organize and coordinate all of our campaign supportive activities, our monthly meetings, attendance at Pride Night at Tropicana Park in St. Petersburg, and our annual participation in the Polk Pride event in Lakeland," Paul said.

Cindy also is the secretary of the Democratic Women's Club of Lakeland, where she also serves on the hospitality committee.
