Get Out The Vote Events

BlueShift FL will be staging several Get Out The Vote (GOTV) events in Polk County over the coming weekends and then through Election Day.
We need volunteers to help get out the vote and campaign for Democratic candidates, such as Charlie Crist for Governor, Val Demings for US Senate, Veysel Dokur for FL Senate Dist 12, and Markeishia Smith for Polk County Commission. Please consider spending just a few hours to door knock or make phones calls to registered Democrats and left-leaning no-party affiliated voters, reminding them they have not yet voted!

Join the Florida US Senate Debate Watch Party
Join Polk County BlueShift FL field organizers Michelle Bradley and Eileen Scheffel as they host the live televised US Senate debate from 6.30 pm on Tuesday, Oct 18. Bring a snack and your favorite drink as we watch Chief Val Demings take on Marco Rubio, and show why she will be a strong voice for Florida in the US Senate!
The watch party will be held at the UFCW local union hall, 5600 US 98 N, Lakeland 33809. RSVP here, as seating is limited.

Women Voters Event
Women 4 Lulac #4269 will host an event aimed at women voters from 11:30 am on Saturday, Oct 22, at the Polk County History Center in Bartow.
The event will include a tour of the 19th Amendment Hall, light foods and refreshments, a review of important amendments on the Nov 8 ballot and guest speakers. Also in attendance will be representatives from the Polk County Supervisor of Elections Office, the League of Women Voters and women candidates.

We recommend VBM ballots be filled out and returned to the Polk County Supervisor of Elections as soon as possible, to prevent delay.
Studies show, when Democrats vote early, Democrats win!
- The deadline to request a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot is October 29.
- All VBM ballots must be received by 7 pm Nov 8, Election Day.
- Early voting polls will be open 9 am to 6 pm, Oct 25-Nov 5.

Communities Celebrate
Polk County Democrats helped celebrate the end of Hispanic Heritage Month during the inaugural Festival de Las Americas in Winter Haven on Saturday. It was a pleasure meeting Florida Lt Governor candidate Karla Hernandez-Mats, and hearing from so many area residents who stopped by our table.
