We had a fantastic turnout Saturday to welcome Charlie Crist, our Democratic gubernatorial candidate, despite short notice he would be stopping by to pick up Hurricane Ian relief donations.

Thank you to everyone who banded together to help set up, bring donations and give our future governor a warm welcome.

Have you returned your VBM ballot?

Vote by mail (VBM) ballots are landing in the mailboxes of voters who have requested them.
We recommend those ballots be filled out and returned to the Polk County Supervisor of Elections as soon as possible, to prevent delay. Also, studies have shown that when Democrats vote early, Democrats win!

The deadline to request a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot is October 29.
All VBM ballots must be received by 7 pm Nov 8, Election Day.
Early voting polls will be open 9 am to 6 pm, Oct 25-Nov 5.

If someone you know is eligible to vote but has not registered, they have until October 11 to do so.

Help Get Out The Vote
Weekend of Action: Oct 15-16

BlueShift FL Polk County field organizers are taking the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaign to the next level. Volunteers are needed this Saturday and Sunday, during the Weekend of Action to 'chase ballots' - by reminding voters to turn in their VBM ballots, vote early and vote on the day. If you have just 1-2 hours to door knock or make phones calls to registered Democrats and left-leaning no-party affiliated voters, please sign up!

Festival de Las Americas

Hispanic Heritage Month continues through Saturday, October 15, when the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will present Festival de Las Americas.

To be held from 1-7 pm in downtown Winter Haven's Central Park, this free event aims to to celebrate ALL of THE AMERICAS - Hispanics and Non Hispanics!

There will be food vendors, products and service vendors, music, entertainment, raffles, child activities and many other activities for the whole entire family.The event will finish with a fantastic FREE OUTDOOR concert! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy!
