Polk County Democrats resume in-person meeting option
Did you know the Polk County DEC has started a hybrid gathering format - in-person and virtual - for it's monthly general meetings?
Having suspended in-person meetings at the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020, and relying solely on Zoom meetings, a number of clubs and caucuses have eased into in-person meetings over recent months as COVID numbers have decreased. Several DEC members have requested a format by which those that desire can re-connect in person, with an option to continue Zoom for those who prefer a remote connection.
The DEC hybrid meetings started in March, with those wishing to attend in person meeting at the Polk County Commissioners Boardroom in Bartow. The venue was renovated it last year and now offers reliable Zoom, audio/video and broadcasting capabilities.
When you register for the April meeting tonight, April 11 at 6.30 pm, you will see information noting the hybrid format. Please note, this format is still in the testing phase. So, please be patient if there are any technical difficulties.
