MARKET PARKING GARAGE NEWS
The Market garage has undergone a few changes. Now electric car drivers can find updated 4G EV charging stations. The PDA has also added another booster to improve coverage inside the garage.

The PDA is excited to announce the start of construction of a new faster, more reliable elevator between Alaskan Way and Western Ave at the Pike Place Market blue garage. This new elevator will replace the existing elevator, provide a faster ride between floors, and offer passengers a little more cab space! These new, improved amenities will support visitors moving between the future Overlook Walk, the Aquarium, and Pike Place Market.

MARKET COMMUNITY: CELEBRATIONS OF LIFE

Clint Stewart
We are beyond saddened to share the passing of a very special Market community member, Clint Stewart. Clint had worked in the Market since 2012 at Market businesses before joining the PDA Facilities team in 2019. He later joined the Market Security team. Clint was described by all as the kindest soul who would always show up for work with a smile on his face. Those closest to him say beyond his love for the Market he was an even prouder father to his daughter, who he would bring to the Market often. Clint was a Washington native, born in Bellingham, WA and is survived by his loving wife, Margaret.

The loss of Clint will be felt by the entire PDA staff and the Market community that knew him. We are all a part of this unique community that supports, cares for and encourages each other, especially through hard times, please continue to be kind to your neighbor.

FAREWELL AND CONGRATULATIONS TO RANDY STEGMEIER
This month we said farewell to our incredible Head of Security, Randy Stegmeier. Since 2013 Randy has been a pillar of our PDA and Market community.

Through his leadership and expertise, he has kept our Market safe for nearly 10 years. Many changes have occurred in the Market during his tenure including the creation and development of the MarketFront, the transition of the Market’s Communications Systems from analog to digital radios, and the massive rooftop concert with KEXP in 2015 was a huge undertaking for Security which required extensive coordination with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of the nearly 9,000 persons in attendance. It led the way for a second concert production in 2019.

Prior to working at Pike Place Market, Randy worked at the University of Washington Police Department, Shoreline Community College and Western Washington University totaling a 50 year police and law enforcement career. We wish Randy a well-earned retirement and hope he will visit the Market often.
