Welcome to the July 2017 edition of Sajid Javid MP's newsletter
WELCOME

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve Bromsgrove constituency as your representative in Parliament for five more years. It is a real privilege to be your local champion and I'm honoured to do so with the largest mandate in the District's history.

The Prime Minister has asked me to join her Cabinet as Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. This is only possible because you have put your faith and trust in me again – thank you.

As soon as I was reappointed the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower happened. I have heard devastating stories from people caught in the fire. It is impossible to comprehend what everybody affected has been going through.

The Grenfell Tower Recovery Task Force was set up in the aftermath of the tragedy to ensure a coordinated response. It is chaired by the Prime Minister and includes representation from a number of government departments. We are determined to stand behind the victims and wider community and ensure that everything is done to prevent anything like this ever happening again.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Muslims in the UK and across the world a very happy Eid-al-Fitr.

If you're a film maker in Bromsgrove constituency I'd encourage you to enter Parliament's Film the House competition. Full details and how to apply here.

Finally, I'm pleased that unemployment in Bromsgrove remains low at 1%. But as always, there's more to do.

It's important for me to hear your comments, thoughts, and feedback, so please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Sajid Javid
Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove
