Balderson Joins Governor to Outline
Economic Development Plans for Eastern Ohio
COLUMBUS - State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) today joined Governor Kasich to outline possible economic development opportunities for eastern Ohio.

South Korean industrial plant, Daelim and PTT Global Chemical of Thailand have joined leaders in Ohio to develop plans to build a petrochemical complex in Belmont County, a facility that would convert ethane into an ingredient for producing plastics.

"This development would create thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of permanent positions for our state," said Senator Balderson. "As the Governor mentioned, this opportunity would create a lasting economic investment, much like when Honda expanded in Ohio.

Jobs Ohio has provided $19 million to the project and PTT has invested nearly $100 million on engineering and design.

Daelim is a global leading expert in petrochemical technology.
