Balderson Announces Approval of Funds Investing in Hocking Hills State Park
COLUMBUS - State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) today announced the release of state capital funds for improvements at Hocking Hills State Park located in Logan, Ohio.
Members of the Ohio Controlling Board approved the release of nearly $5 million to Hocking Hills State Park for the construction of a new Visitor Center at the Old Man's Cave area of the park. The new Visitor Center will provide an interactive display area with seating for presentations, a map room with self-service kiosks, a gift shop and retail store, walk-up vending and associated support spaces.
"Parks like Hocking Hills have become an iconic tourist attraction for our state," said Senator Balderson. "An inviting visitor center, with the appropriate amenities focused on keeping visitors safe during their visit, is imperative to providing Ohioans a safe and enjoyable visit to this internationally recognized state park."
The project is scheduled for completion by November 2018.
