Dear Members, Visitors, Donors and Friends,
We hope this message finds you well and warm!
It's been a bit chilly in the Rio Grande Valley, so we're busy planning our winter work of trimming, growing and preparing for spring plantings, not to mention providing another year of of high-quality educational programs to the community.
As always, we need your support to achieve our goals. Whether you give today (or sometime before the year end), we humbly request your continued generosity toward the National Butterfly Center's gardens, trails, wetlands, equipment and more.
It is through your past gifts that we've been able to replace our tractor that kicked the bucket; expand the native plant nursery to meet our ever-growing demand; maintain facilities; improve roads and trails; and offer scholarship opportunities to very low income schools for students to receive rewarding outdoor experiences and traditional field education--all of this, you have done for the love of butterflies.
For the coming year, our focus will be on ensuring the 30 acres north of the levee are more remarkable and accessible than ever, with colorful, interpretive signs and greater amenities for wildlife and visitors. This includes another mile or more of finished trails and access to the Texas Savannah Trails and Ayenia Refugium.
As always, we welcome gifts designated for special programs and features, such as Education, Birds, etc. especially as we remain the only nature center in South Texas that feeds the butterflies and birds all year 'round.
