We Apologize for Technical Difficulties

The North American Butterfly Photo Contest is off to a slow start, due to technical difficulties. We appreciate all the calls and email alerting us to the problems you’ve had completing the entry process. We believe those issues have all been RESOLVED and encourage everyone to try again!  Do NOT wait until the end of the month to enter because we do experience heavy volume at that time. In fact, entries intensify in the last week and run right up until the portal closing time of MIDNIGHT CST, September 30.

Reclaim the River

We know most of you were not able to be here for our Reclaim the River event, so here’s a short video!

Many thanks to the reporters and producers of Neta RGV for their coverage of activities and issues related to our community. More than 400 people came out to fish, explore and enjoy the grand opening of our restored wetland, which is already attracting great bird and dragonfly traffic. In the Rio Grande Valley we say, “El agua es vida,” or “Water is Life” and the water features we’ve added throughout the property attest to this every day.

Your contributions to our organization make these features (and filling them with water) possible!

Bucket List Butterflying!

National Butterfly Center

Often described as a ‘bucket list’ trip, the trek to Michoacan, Mexico, for the migration of the Monarchs is a magical experience! The National Butterfly Center is proud to sponsor its second trip for members and guests to witness this enchanting congregation overwintering in the oyamel fir forests at El Rosario Sanctuary and other preserves high in the mountains.
