On 10 May 2024, armed clashes renewed between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Al Fasher Town of Al Fasher locality, North Darfur. Clashes were reported in eastern and northern neighbourhoods of the town. As a result, approximately 170 households were displaced to various locations across Al Fasher locality. An additional 200 households were reportedly displaced within Al Fasher locality during the previous week due to tensions in the town. There were also reports of deaths and injuries among civilians.
On 11 May 2024, field teams reported airstrikes by SAF targeting RSF locations in the north and east of Al Fasher Town. No displacement has been reported yet. The situation remains tense and unpredictable. DTM will continue to monitor the developments closely and will provide regular information on displacement and population mobility across Sudan.
