As we come to the end of 2021 at Interference Archive, we’ve been reflecting on the fact that we’re wrapping up our first decade. What an incredible ten years it’s been!
What are some highlights from 2021? While slowly re-starting in person programming this fall, we’ve also continued to work online.
In 2021, volunteers in our Education Working Group hosted over forty virtual class visits.
Our Collections Working Group has been digging into all the remarkable material that our community continues to trust us with; over the past year, we’ve accepted over sixty amazing collection donations, from political t-shirts to zines to ephemera from 1960s high school student organizing in New York City.
We launched a redesigned website this year and continue to develop our online catalog.
Our Audio Working Group continues to produce podcast episodes that provide thoughtful reflection on the social movements and materials contained in our archive.
We’ve been so grateful to reopen our doors to public visitors over the past six months; providing space for our community to look at our physical collections and share ideas about social movement history is so important to what we do. We hope to see you at the archive in the coming months.
Join us in continuing this wild journey of radical, movement-focused archiving. We’re dreaming up new exhibitions and publications for 2022 and can’t wait to share them with you, both in person and virtually. Will you help us carry on this work?
