Produce Mobile: A Community Effort to Support Wellness
October 18th, 2024
On October 18th, 2024, IHC held its monthly Produce Mobile event, providing fresh fruits, vegetables, canned goods, and other USDA products to community members. Held from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, this event continues to foster community wellness by making nutritious food accessible to all.
While a few of our regular Community Wellness and Outreach (CWO) staff were out this month, IHC was fortunate to have incredible support from across the organization. Staff members from administration, marketing, medical, and our Intertribal Resource Department stepped up to assist, alongside dedicated community members who volunteered to help distribute food. This collaboration ensured the Produce Mobile remained a success, even amid challenges.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated and helped keep this community-focused event going smoothly. Please note that our next Produce Mobile will be held on the second Friday of December (December 13th, 2024) instead of the usual third Friday, to account for the holiday season. We hope to see you there, joining us in promoting wellness and strengthening our community through access to healthy food!

Together We Vote: Phone Banking Party
October 28th, 2024
On October 28th, IHC proudly joined the Together We Vote Coalition for a community phone banking event, held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This initiative aimed to encourage voter participation and promote health equity through community engagement, drawing an impressive turnout of over 30 dedicated volunteers. As a supporter of this event, IHC provided funding for a raffle that gave away gift cards to thank participants for their hard work and enthusiasm. This collaboration with other local organizations was an inspiring reminder of the power of unity in supporting civic engagement and community well-being.
To close out the event, Marissa Hemstreet, IHC Communications Coordinator and a certified Zumba instructor with over 12 years of experience, led an energizing stretch and mini-Zumba session. This lively cooldown left everyone smiling and energized—an ideal conclusion to an impactful evening. Thank you to all who joined us in this phone banking effort and showed up for the health and empowerment of our communities.
