Representation matters!
We are proud to say that our agency and urban indigenous community were represented during two significant events for our county and city. On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, IHC Director of Development and Communications, Gerardo Loera, accompanied by his wife, Corina, provided a ceremonial opening and land acknowledgment for the State of the County Address and swearing in of County Board of Supervisor President, Susan Ellenberg. On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, they provided the same during the inauguration of San Jose’s 66th Mayor, Matt Mahan.

Dear IHC community,
Our work has evolved significantly since our founding over 45 years ago. Services include nationally acclaimed medical, dental, counseling, WIC, and prevention services to over 22,000 patients. From Pediatrics to Elder Care, IHC takes pride in serving a patient population as diverse as the community in which it lives, while continuing to be the only agency in Santa Clara County that specializes in the unique health care needs of American Indians and Alaskan Natives.
Our work and our community relationships have grown and expanded rapidly. We are constantly working to improve the ways in which we serve you. We believe communication is the foundation for all good relationships. That’s why we are thrilled to share with you our completely redesigned website!

Native American Honor Flight
Native Americans’ service to the U.S. is a complicated sacrifice of self by being willing to give your life to a country that has done unspeakable things for generations throughout the history of the U.S. Yet, Indigenous people have served at higher rates than any other population. They have served selflessly and with honor in every major conflict for more than 250 years.
Our way of saying to all our Native American Veterans, one more TOUR with HONOR!
If you are a Veteran or have a friend or family who is a Veteran, please share this great opportunity with them. All Native American Veterans are eligible to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington DC, where they will be honored for their service in the United States Armed Forces.
