Tragic Apartment Fire in Westbury Area
WHAT:
Apartment Fire
WHEN:
January 10, 2019 at 11:32 p.m.
WHERE:
10550 S. Post Oak Rd, 77035
INJURIES:
One civilian transported, declared deceased at the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED:
Approximately $55 thousand in property saved
DAMAGE:
$20 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The cause is under investigation by HFD Arson investigators
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from an apartment building and began an attack on the fire and primary search. A victim was found and taken to waiting EMS crews who performed CPR and transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Another search was completed and the American Red Cross was requested to assist the other residents of the building. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Crews from Stations 48, 16, 82, 21, 28, 59, 68, 33, 37, 57 and Rescue 10 responded to this incident.
