Townhome Fire in The Afton Oaks / River Oaks Area

Firefighters arrived on scene with light smoke coming from the first floor of a 3-story townhome. Smoke was found coming from an electrical meter and box mounted on the wall. Crews conducted a primary search and checked for fire extension inside the townhome. The fire was extinguished and the electrical and gas were shut off. Per the homeowner, hot coals from grilling were left at the point of origin. Firefighters from Stations 2, 6, 28, 3, 37, 38, 16, 8 and 57 responded to this incident.
