Townhome Fire in Greater Uptown Area of Houston
WHAT:
Townhome Fire
WHEN:
September 8, 2018 at 8:44 p.m.
WHERE:
6400 block of Burgoyne Dr, 77057
INJURIES:
2 cats died, no injuries to civilians or firefighters
PROPERTY SAVED:
Firefighters protected nearby townhomes from fire damage.
DAMAGE:
Fire damage to the townhome of origin and water damage to one additional townhome.
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled accidental by HFD Arson Investigators.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on location to find light smoke visible from the exterior of a 2-story townhome. Upon entering the home, they encountered dark smoke and heat.  Crews made an attack on the fire while conducting a primary search of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished. 

Two cats were found and although firefighters attempted to revive one cat, they both succumbed to their injuries.

One adjacent townhome suffered from water damage but there was no fire extension. HFD Arson was requested to determine the cause and origin.  Firefighters from Stations 5, 2, 28, 51, 3, and 57 responded to this incident
