Texas Brotherhood Ride Honors Houston Firefighters

The Texas Brotherhood Ride will honor two recent Line of Duty Deaths of the Houston Fire Department, Captain Bill “Iron Bill” Dowling and Fire Cadet Steven Whitfield.

The Texas Brotherhood Ride consists of Firefighters, Police Officers and EMS personnel who ride bicycles to honor emergency responders who died in the line of duty.
This year they are honoring 11 who paid the ultimate sacrifice. The riders began their journey in New Orleans, Louisiana and will ride to San Antonio, Texas, traveling over 650 miles, averaging 80-100 miles each day.
The Texas Brotherhood Ride is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization. Other than the cost of conducting the rides, all donated proceeds go directly to the beneficiaries designated. No one is compensated for their time and all our team members sacrifice their own time with their family and work to participate in this event.
Tomorrow, they will also be honoring Chief Clint Greenwood (Harris County SO) and Officer Endy (Pearland Police) while at the HFD training academy.
On June 1st, The Brotherhood Riders will be honoring Officer Perez (Houston Police), starting at the Houston Fire Academy; then riding through Houston (including downtown Houston); to the Houston Police Memorial; through west Houston via Westheimer on our their way to their destination of Columbus.
