Storage Shed Fire in Gulfton Area of Houston
WHAT:
Storage Shed Fire
WHEN:
August 26, 2018 at 1:05 a.m.
WHERE:
6702 Renwick Dr, 77081
INJURIES:
No reported injuries
PROPERTY SAVED:
Firefighters prevented spread of the fire to nearby apartments.
DAMAGE:
$15 thousand in requested damage.
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled as incendiary by HFD Arson investigators.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire and arrived on scene to find a large storage shed and car on fire near a 16-unit, 2-story apartment building. Firefighters attacked the fire and protected the nearby apartment building from the fire. They conducted a primary search and extinguished hotspots from the burned down shed and conducted ventilation of smoke from the apartment building. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the residents. Firefighters from Stations 28, 68, 51 and 24 responded to this incident.
