Restaurant Fire in Neartown- Montrose Area
WHAT:
Restaurant Fire
WHEN:
August 16, 2019 at 7:27 a.m.

INJURIES:
No reported injuries
PROPERTY SAVED:
More than $15 million in estimated property saved
DAMAGE:
$50 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled as accidental by HFD Arson investigators
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from a wall of a 2-story restaurant. A small fire was found inside the restaurant behind a gas stove involving the gas line. Crews extinguished the fire and checked for extension. No extension was found in the second floor or attic. The second floor was ventilated and the incident was declared under control. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and a Health Inspector was notified. Firefighters from Stations 6, 8, 16, 7, 11 and 3 responded to the incident.
