Restaurant Fire in Greater Uptown Area of West Houston

Fire contained to room of origin
DAMAGE:
$10 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The fire appeared to have started from stove pipes radiating heat to the roof rafters over time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from the roof of a barbeque restaurant. Crews began an offensive attack on the fire, forcing entry into the building to conduct a primary search. The roof was evaluated and the utilities were secured. The fire was declared under control in less than 10 minutes with firefighters from Stations 2, 3, 5, 28, 51, 57 and 60 responding to the incident.
