Motel Fire in Willow Meadows / Willowbend Area
WHAT:
Motel Fire
WHEN:
November 28, 2018 at 3:28 p.m.
WHERE:
3223 S. Loop West, 77025
INJURIES:
1 civilian transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED:
$5 thousand in estimated property saved
DAMAGE:
$8 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as incendiary
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with reports of smoke and a person trapped inside a room of a 3-story motel. They forced entry into the room and assisted the occupant out. The fire was found and extinguished. The manager stated that the occupant’s smoke alarm was heard but maintenance personal were unable to gain entry through the door. They were, however, able to break a window to dispense a fire extinguisher into the room before HFD arrived. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause of the fire. Crews from Stations 21, 59, 37 and 24 responded to this incident.
