Motel Fire in Independence Heights Area
WHAT:
Motel Fire
WHEN:

INJURIES:
No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:
$1,800,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE:
$203 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with heavy fire coming from the second floor of a 2-story motel. The crews quickly reset the fire and made entry to attack the fire and conduct a search to ensure everyone was out. The adjoining rooms were also checked for extension and occupants. The fire was controlled and crews overhauled the room, removing all the contents to the parking lot. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Crews from Stations 15, 31, 34, 12, 13, 30, 58 and 8 responded to this incident.
