A few days before Thanksgiving 2016, Mr. Gary Taylor had excruciating chest pain and called 9-1-1. The 9-1-1 calltaker reassured him and soon HFD EMTs and paramedics from Station 08 and 06 responded. He received treatment and was being transported to a hospital but suddenly lost pulses. The paramedics applied a defibrillator and delivered shocks to restart his heart along with advanced life support. His pulse was restored and he received a stent in the hospital.
Mr. Taylor recently had an opportunity to meet the HFD members from Station 8, but other HFD members never got reunited with this patient as they were attending training. He is coming to HFD Station 06 to meet the rest of the crew so he can thank them personally for saving his life.
