APARTMENT FIRE IN SOUTHEAST HOUSTON
WHAT:
Apartment fire in southeast Houston
WHEN:
February 22, 2018 at 5:09 p.m.
WHERE:
Summer Cove Apartments – 715 FM 1959 Rd.
INJURIES:
No reported injuries
DAMAGE:
$35 thousand in estimated damages.
CAUSE:
Electrical
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters from Station 93 arrived to find smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building. The fire had been called in by a passerby.  

The firefighters forced entry into the apartment showing smoke and performed a primary search. The fire was quickly knocked down by the crew of Engine 93 and was contained to a closet inside the apartment. Firefighters also pulled the ceiling to check for possible extension into the attack.

The fire appeared to have started in the heater closet by an electrical short inside the closet.  The downstairs apartment was vacant and sustained some minor water damage.
