Houston Fire Department, Houston Apartment Association and Memorial Hermann Hospital to Encourage Holiday Safety

The Fire Department (HFD), Houston Apartment Association (HAA) and Memorial Hermann Hospital will remind citizens to be safe this holiday season with special safety tips and demonstrations.

With an average of more than 130 home and apartment fires in the City of Houston during December the HFD, HAA and Memorial Hermann Hospital want everyone to have a safe and happy holiday by keeping some simple safety tips in mind while celebrating and decorating for the holiday season.
The HFD will give safety tips and several demonstrations about Christmas tree safety, use of extension cords, candle safety, cooking safety, space heater safety and the importance of working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
