House Fire in Washington Avenue Coalition / Memorial Park Area
WHAT:
House Fire
WHEN:
September 30, 2018 at 5:50 a.m.
WHERE:
1600 block of Alamo St. 77007
INJURIES:
No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:
Firefighters protected nearby homes from the fire.
DAMAGE:
$7 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the side of a one-story home.  They began an attack on the fire and protected nearby homes from the flames. The fire was quickly knocked down and primary searches found no one inside. A smoke alarm alerted the residents to the fire. There were powerlines down and the electric and gas companies were notified. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin.  Firefighters from Stations 6, 8 and 9 responded to this incident.
