House Fire in Washington Avenue Coalition / Memorial Park Area of Houston

Firefighters were dispatched to an automatic alarm and upon arrival found smoke in the kitchen and part of the living room of a house. Smoke appeared to be coming from the light cans in the ceiling. Upon investigation, a grill was found outside the home, still on, with the wall behind it showing hot. The firefighters tore out the wall and checked for extension. They extinguished the fire and shut power off to the home. There was no extension beyond the immediate wall. Firefighters from Stations 6 and 11 responded to this incident.
