House Fire in The South Park Area
WHAT:
House Fire
WHEN:
August 20, 2019 at 7 a.m.
WHERE:
5000 block of Northridge Dr, 77033
INJURIES:
One resident transported to the hospital
PROPERTY SAVED:
$25 thousand in estimated property saved
DAMAGE:
$35 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
Failure of equipment or heat source
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with fire and heavy smoke coming from a 1-story home and made an offensive attack.  The resident had safely made it outside the home and stated she saw smoke coming from a back bedroom.. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and found that the fire appeared to have started in the outlet that an A/C was plugged into and caught a mattress on fire. Crews remained on scene and conducted overhaul. The resident was transported to the hospital after the incident was controlled. Firefighters from Stations 23, 21, 26, 35, 46, 55 and 24 responded to this incident.
